Anyone with advice on iron supplements with PCOS

I have been discussing this iron issue now with a professional.Someone brought it up...since then I have been on a mission and now got quite confused.

What is the scoop on iron being contradicted in women with PCOS? Is this true or not? I know all about the blood tests etc....just wondering how many are told not to take iron and how many are told to take iron.

>From what I understand....supplementation is not neccessary if you eat
foods rich in iron,of which most of us do.

I used to assume it was the total red blood cell count that determined whether or not you needed iron or were anemic.I am aware of the different tests.

Is it wise to take supplemental iron with a multi vitamin?.I am forty and told not to.I menestrate regularily...so what is up with this?

Seems that everywhere I read or who I talk to has a different opinion, with that;I am including professionals.

Confused again when I thought I had the answers! :)
