Re: PCOS - Low carb diet and Birth Control and trying to concieve!??!!?From: Victoria (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 30 Mar 2002 13:49:49 -0500
Hi Kristy, You don't mention your age. Either way, once you have been trying for a baby after one year, or are over 33-35 yrs of age, for 6 months, you can go to a reproductive endocrinologist. They are specialists in reproductive problems. Next, if you have been switching doctors, have you been calling first to check them out before you go to them? When I searched for a doc, I made lots of phone calls, was polite and persistant, but for the most part, I got answers to a list of 7 short questions I made up. That's how I knew I got the doc I wanted. I'm also confused by why you are taking birth control if you are trying to get pregnant. Low carbing is great, but are you trying to exercise? Are you doing any BBT's? Charting? The pills probably will give you a normal cycle, but may not be the normal cycle you are thinking of. Its hard to tell whether or not Adkins is helping if you are taking something to normalize your cycle. As for what people say, ah well, people are like that. For me, I just shrug 'em off and keep on moving to find those that can.
