Re: hysterectomy & PCOSFrom: Valerie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 25 Mar 2002 22:44:10 -0600 (CST)
You can (and most probably will) have problems from your PCOS long after a hysterectomy... remember the ovaries have recently been found to be only a symptom of the syndrome... the real problem seems to be the insulin resistance which is not going to get better without your ovaries because your ovaries don't cause the problem... unfortunately, alot of women (including my own mother and two aunts) had an increase in the severity of symptoms of PCOS following hysterectomies...sorry to bring bad news...best of luck to you.
