Diabetes and Exercise

I went to my endocrinologist today for a follow up visit.

He told me that 30 minutes of exercise everyday prevents diabetes. Well, ya know, I've been exercising a heck of a lot more than that for the past 30 years of my life. As I get older, insulin resistance creeps in a little worse and worse. (Yes, I'm on glucophage).

Is this doctor nuts, or is he on to something? I've just never heard that before.

Thanks. CW
