Re: hysterectomy & PCOS

PCOS is a misnamed disease. it is an ENDOCRINE problem, not just an ovarian problem. having a hysterectomy may help with painful cysts, it can help with excess bleeding, eliminate your risk for uterine and ovarian cancer, but in no way shape or form will it get rid of PCOS. it is thought that PCOS is caused by a faulty gene on chromosome 19. it is GENETIC...

i am sorry your doctors mislead all of you. unfortunately, what they said is simply not true. the same treatment you would use before the hysterectomy (low-carb and possibly an insulin sensitizer such as metformin) is still needed after the surgery.

hope this helps =)

love, paula
