GlucophageFrom: Minni (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 25 Mar 2002 14:23:14 -0600 (CST)
Hi Everyone, My doctor put me on Glucophage XR 500MG about 2 months ago and I had side affects in the beginning because I was also taking Meridia. Recently he switched me to regular Glucophage 4 times a day (2000MG). I can barely take 1500 MG and feel very sick to my stomach, feel tired, not hungry and afraid to eat. I feel like if I eat, I will puke. I have heard that when low carbing Glucophage works better. I try to low-carb but find it very hard to do so. How many carbs can I eat during the day? What is the most amount of carbs that I can consume during the day? I started Glucophage a few days ago and find it really hard to adjust to it. I really want to work out but can't seem to do so because I feel so tired...and don't know what to do. I don't get anything done most of the time because I just want to go lay down and not get up. I need to lose 30 pounds and doctor said I must exercise every day for at least a few minutes. Can anyone suggest something...maybe vitamins or something that will give me energy? I also don't feel like doing anything and feel moody and depressed because of all the hair also. My main focus is to lose weight and get my hormone level down so I can start laser but I know that will not happen unless I exercise. Is anyone else experiencing this??? Another question, I have heard that one 500MG of GlucophageXR is equal to 1000MG (two) of regular Glucophage, Is that true? My doctor told me that he was increasing my dose to 1000 and doesn't think that I need to increase it any more for the time being. What confused me was that I am taking 2000mg (500mg, 4 times a day) of Glucophage and if the above is true then it makes sense but wasn't sure. Thank you very much Minni
