Sally,

Just because you're in an HMO doesn't mean you're stuck with that doctor. You just have to call you insurer, or your HR office if it's a work plan, and get a change of PCP form. Pick another doctor, fill out the form and send it in. The first of the next month, or the month after (depending on their cut off date within the month), you'll have a new doctor.
