I was just wondering if you could give me some more info about PCOS. I am 24, have had problems with heavy periods for a long time. I dont have irregular periods, and my gynae thought I had endo to start with, then this was changed to adeno (I've had a lap, no endo found, ovaries looked OK - last March). I've never had the blood tests for PCOS. My symptoms are: Heavy prolonged periods (between 7 and 10 days) Weight gain Acne Minor facial hair Miscarriages (although I have two healthy girls as well) High blood pressure Some hair loss but not drastic, you cant tell (put it down to norethisterone and Zoladex in the past, but it's still happening now) Popping sensations in my ovary area, more frequent since the clomid, and pain following them. I'm currently on clomid, and was referred to a fertility specialist for further testing, but at my first appointment they (well, the nurse) told me that it was a mechanical problem not a fertility issue, and has sent me back to my gynae for another lap. She says she's certain I have PCOS, and has booked me in for the blood tests at the beginning of my next cycle. The only reason I am on clomid is because I had Zoladex (induced menopause) treatment in case I had adenomyosis (endo in the womb) which didnt work, in fact it made me bleed more instead of less. When I stopped it to try for another child, I never started ovulating again, but maybe I was like that before then anyway. I'm so unsure, I've been prodded and poked for a year and a half, and had bad periods since I was 10, and I just want to know what I have! Does it sound like PCOS to you? And if so, what is the treatment for it? i cant have the bcp as it raises my blood pressure too high. I did the PCOS quiz online, and scored 15, which the site said means I should see a doc ASAP!! *lol* Sorry to waffle on... Thanks, Lisa
