BMI done professionally thru a wellness instituteFrom: Barbra (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 22 Mar 2002 03:15:09 -0600 (CST)
I had a BMI done, but was done by a registered nurse at a wellness institute joined to a local hospital. The nurse was there for a day. This was almost a year ago. It was a device that had these little probes that were attached,or shall I say-suctioned onto different parts of my body. It measured my muscle mass, the amount of water in my body...said the type of diet that I should be on....my index for that showed 23.It stated that a loss in body fat was not reccomended at the time, although I weighed in at 154 pounds at that time, and am 5' 4".According to the other BMI...I was at 26. As I had these probes attached.....the printer was printing out all the info on me.It is very interesting to look at.It even showed what my exercise routine should be and my heartrate for exercise(oh yeah,I told her)..should be 130 for aeorbics...when it is usually 120 resting,...so I was a bit reluctant to believe that. Has anyone ever had that done?I am wondering how accurate that is. Duhum....with control top panty hose on....most people assume that I weigh about 130 lbs.The nurse was also a bit surprised to see my weight on the scale. She also asked me how I got so muscular. Can anyone answer that one for me? My doctor cannot even answer that.Yes,I do some dance...as long as I can hold up..and I do yoga for an hour or more faithfully every night. But lord...how in the heck did I get such a compact, masculine frame? It is still hour glassed, with exception of lower ab,,(same story),but more like a body builder and I certainly don't have the strenght to even do weight bearing exercise.I look good in clothes...but naked.....watch out...I won't look!!!!!-really,I see a man's body with huge boobs. I brought it and showed my doctor and he was surprised that I had it done for free,as he said that they usually cost about $300.00 Can for that to be done. There are always things going on at the wellness centre and they have nurses come in weekly checking cholesterol, blood sugars etc. I think it is to get people to join the institute.
