Two questions: Laproscopy and Glucose/Insulin RatioFrom: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 21 Mar 2002 21:42:34 -0600 (CST)
Hi, I am new to the PCOS and my diagnosis is still uncertain. I have two questions: first, what is a normal glucose/insulin ratio AFTER two hours. My results were: Fasting Glucose 93/ Insulin 8 2 Hours after 75 mg. Glucola, Glucose 75/ Insulin 28. Are those normal levels? The RE said that my second insulin was slightly elevated. How important is that to the diagnosis of PCOS? Second, my RE wants to do a laproscopy bc of possible endo, but I am scared. My Internal Medicine doctor advised against it because my pain is not too severe and she said the procedure is miserable and they are likely not to find anything. Is it that bad? How useful in the diagnosis of PCOS is it? Thanks for any advice you can give.
