On other medications that I have been on in the past....the doctors usually wrote me out a presctiption for three months worth,rather than a month; to keep my costs down. I asked the pharmacist about this...she said it was because there is always a flat pharmacy fee...so in reality....by purchasing 30 met..it would have costed me almost the same amount. I have found this to be true by watching my grandmothers prescriptions as well.
