I also had the barium swallow..whatever that is called....no reflux...that was done in '99....the upper gastro. You know..where you swallow this chalky stuff that they flavour with strawberry or whatever. I had liver abnormalites.....the enzymes were elevated in my billirubin...so then I was told the nausea originated from that. Apparantly now all my liver tests are normal and they are checked every three months-I belive there is a stage of a four panel of tests for the liver. I still have stomach problems and I posted as such a while back.Told now,(without any further gastro tests),that it is irritable bowel syndrome...and yes,I was told that it is from pcos..but mostly the Insulin resistance.I really don't understand it. My nausea is pretty much under control these days...I drink the rootstalk of ginger and drink lemon water all day.It does help. I found that ginger tea is almost an instant reliever of gastric troubles....it relieves you of the flatulence and regulates diarrhea and constipation for me somewhat. At least it is more tolerable than it was before.I still have the bloating....but at least not the nausea that can really be disabling. There is a tea by Celestial that is called "Sleepy Time"...it has spearment in it,as well as cammomile(good for nausea),and it also rids of the night time nausea for me.Sometimes I just chew on the rootstalk.Carry it in my purse. I never vomit....my husband has had acid reflux for years and takes meds occasionally for it.When he eats well...it isn't bad.He does vomit though...I never do.His is always worse in the evenings....he feels a burning sensation...and something backing up in his throat and has to sleep with his head elevated. I wish I had an answer for you..but know that you aren't alone.I have irritable bowel, but without the stomach ache.Just the irritability and the nagging, bloating feeling.I can relate. All I can say.....there has to be more to PCOS than we know for certain. Talk about a myriad of symptoms.
