Because all US health care is obscenely overpriced. I am sure there are reasons for this, and I admit the quality of care is much higher than in other countries I have seen, but sheesh. When we lived in Australia I paid $3/month for my Diaformin / Metformin. Regular doctor's visits run about $150 here, and just imagine the prices on bloodwork!

It's a true pet peeve of mine, I can't afford to stay healthy! Our system needs a serious overhaul to work for everyone again.

Glucophage here is made by Bristol Meyers Squibb. Not sure about the Metformin.
