even more freaked out

I finally went to the endocrinologist. After being unable to retain a referral from my primary and my gyn, I went on my own. The endocrinologist (who made me NOT feel like a raving lunatic) went over my medical history and explained things to me in depth. I went this morning for the 2 hour glucose tolerance test along with a host of hormone studies, then for my pelvic ultrasound this evening. The ultrasound showed a nasty little string of cysts on my ovary (I only have one ovary as it is). My gyn started me on some low dose birth control pills last month, and I ended up bleeding my way through the whole pack. The endo is starting me on a higher dose pill this Sunday. Does anyone have any experience with the higher dose pills, and do they help more? I'm now waiting for the results to come back. The thyroid studies I had done last month came back low normal, and the prolactin level was high normal. I am so confused about all of this, and so tired of not feeling well and treating symptoms here and there -- I could just scream!
