Well Ladies, I waited for the results of my bloodwork and my transaginal ultrsound to come and it took so long that i statred calling around to get results. I did. I test positive for poly cystic ovaries and as for my blood work test result limits glucose,serum 98mg.dl 65-109 a/g ratio .9L 1.1-2.5 cholestrol, total 167 100-199 triglycerides 75 0-149 hdl cholestrol 51 40-59 ldl cholestrol 101 0-99 ldl/hdl 1.9 ratio .03-3.2 Lh 8.7 fsh 1.7 17-oh progestrone 59 androstenedione 132 dhea 139 testosterone 62 insulin,fasting 13.6 prolactin 18.3 Well, according to the post on Feb . 4 2002 that Belle wrote to respond to Jessica and then Tera thought that it was so important that it was should be posted again for all to read. ANd I did and know I am educated about this syndrome. This may sound silly and I might even complain about it later....but I am happy to finally have the answer to why I am the way i am.. I have been set frr in a strange way.. To be able to move on from this thing... deal with, learn what i need to do for myself.... But the other point is that I would not have been this knowledgeable if it were not the magazine article and then this site where I have met you wonderful sisters!!!! Belle..... because of your response and your knowledge I can compare my results to your posts about what confirms PCO's... I have it.... The fasting insulin is above 10, there is such a great distance between my fsh and Lh. The Lh is much higher then the fsh... Now for some questions of my own... 1. LdL chol was flagged.. is this the good or bad choles? and my over all cholestrol total was below 200...it was 167.. that is good right? 2. I have an appointment on monday to see the gyn.. I am taking this paper that i printed out regarding the levels posted by Belle...what should Be looking forward too? Should I request an endo Doctor?, Should the Gyn prescribe meds? should I wait to see the endo doc? Should I ask for meds to stop this hair on my face...Please say yes.. I hate it.. I am looking like wolf girl...smile..... and now I can move on... 3. What meds are out there and what can I expect. What are the side effects is there one better than the other. I have heard about the Metaform (spelling) and Glucophage... I am so excited...if that sound crazy... thank you again for your posts... Blessings to you all.... Thea
