Can this be ovulation? When I first began to ovulate-I had no clue that it would sometimes be so leaky and I,too assumed,as I ran to the ladies washroom, that it was the onset of my period.I don't think this is your case,as I am certain that you are aware that ovulation discharge presents as an egg white quality that is clear, but heavy. In most women it is normal to have a slight, odourless discharge from the vagina. It is unpleasant if there is a lot of discharge and it causes itchiness or smells strongly. Normal vaginal fluid possesses high acidity as a natural resistance to bacteria, fungus and yeast. Should the fluid change, such organisms can spread and cause problems. Decreasing acidity may have a normal cause such as a menstrual period or the menopause. But there may also be other causes such as washing too much or too roughly. Tight clothing can cause problems. Tampons and sanitary towels that are not changed regularly enough during a period may also cause vaginal problems. Vaginal discharge can also be caused by a bacterium or fungus transferring from a partner who does not necessarily have any obvious problems. Some women get an unpleasant discharge after using an antibiotic. Antibiotics do not just kill the harmful bacteria but also those 'friendly' bacteria which our bodies need to function properly. If the discharge is white and crumbly and causes irritation then this is caused by a yeast (thrush). If the discharge is yellow or green then there may be an infection from another cause (bacterial vaginitis). I am hoping this puts your mind at ease.Take your doc's advice and please don't worry. Now,if it is a clear, bubbly dischage, that is completly different and causes itching and irritation,it can be what is called Trichomonis.I am certain that I spelled it incorrectly. It is a sexually transmitted disease, that is not a very serious one,but doctors will do a swab test to see what origin of bacteria that is is and prescribe Flagyl for it. I don't think this is the case with you,-your doctor would definitely know._ and it would be more than uncomfortable.Itching and burning.I had this once when I was first about to be married the first time.......should have known then!:)
