1) Read these boards. You can do searches on your specific symptoms and find out what other women here have used to help with these symptoms, what has helped, what has not. In particular, I would do a search on lab tests so that I was informed before I went in.

2) Go to http://www.pcosupport.org and other websites to have accurate information about PCOS before you go in. This way, you will be able to speak and respond to the doctor when S/He is speaking. Being informed is also a good way to determine if the doctor is current on the research.

3) Write all of your questions down and take the notes into the office with you. Writing down the answers as you go. Even if you know what you want to ask, it is amazing how quickly you can become involved with other areas of the conversation and totally forget to ask the *one* question that you wanted to ask until you are on the interstate going home.

4) I would go to the visit in a fasting state if possible. You may be able to get the blood tests in the office or just after your visit.
