Hi again. I got my blood test results a while ago but no fasting
insulin- nowhere round here will do it- so I am still working on this
one. I just wondered if you had reference ranges for UK/European?
results to hand? I haven't a clue what they mean but they are measured
in things like mIU/l and pmol/l. I do have the reference ranges for the
labs they were done at, but I dunno, it might be worth comparing I
suppose.
Right, the only thing was for some reason, in addition to not knowing
how to test insulin so I don't have that done yet, nobody tested my
testosterone level even though it was requested. This was the only
androgen I was getting done. So the rest of the tests were done
together just after a period, and the testosterone was done on day 3 a
week or two later, when I had just started dianette for 2 days.
Actually, my period ended that day because of the dianette. So I'm not
sure as to the accuracy of the testosterone result, but doctor and I
agreed it was just tough, because I waited long enough trying to get the
tests redone, and then they don't come back...hopefully they will mean
something to the R.E.
OK these are the results with the reference intervals given in brackets:
L.H = 8.9 IU/l (3-16)(luteal)
FSH = 6.4 IU/l (0.5-8.0)
PROLACTIN = 83 mIU/l (40-530)
OESTRADIOL = 147 pmol/l (75-1470)(luteal: 180-1100)
TSH = 0.82 mIU/l (O.4-4.0)
and day 3 testosterone/done on separate occasion
TESTOSTERONE = 2.6 nmol/l (2.3-4.1)
LIPIDS (I'm sure these are horrible)
cholesterol = 4.7 mnol/l
HDL = 1.79 mnol/l (1.0-1.8)(females)
triglycerides=1.06 mnol/l (o.6-2.2)(fasting)
LDL = 2.4 mnol/l
CHOL HDL RATIO = 2.6
When I originally posted you I was going on about my ribcage and
collarbone growing. So far they have not grown again (thank God)but
they definitely did grow. I am a little bigger - not just fat! than I
used to be. You suggested you were worried about that and I wondered if
you ever did have a chance to research it. (I have temporarily switched
my obsessing to hairloss!)
