Re: Shaving the face(Don't)Glucophage(Metformin)and points on loosing weight.From: Sonnet (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 6 Mar 2002 17:09:53 -0600 (CST)
Wow, you have a million replies to this already so maybe I am just repeating what everyone else is saying! We'll see though. Shaving works really well for me. I've shaved for years and years and it's never grown in darker or bushy or anything. I also used Sally Hansen face cream and thought it was alright, but shaving works much better for me. We disagree on your point that it makes hair grow in darker - since I'm sure I won't change your mind about it, why don't we just agree that, especially on these boards, it's important to let women do what works for THEM and their bodies (we're all so different!) I also won't dispute the need for low carb dieting and excercise, it's a definite plus, but I also want to point out that thre IS a place for Metformin in a good treatment regimen (it helps correct the IR, low carbing helps to keep insulin levels low and stable, the combination is best for our bodies.) Also I want to point out that I personally have GAINED weight on a low carb and high excercise diet without it. Granted my weight gain is a severe symptom, but I think I'm not toally alone. Again it comes back to, there's no need to tell women that their PCOS and symptom reduction is all their fault if it doesn't work. We get enough of that from doctors. What works for you might be the exact opposite of what works for other people. That's all! Take care. At Tue, 5 Mar 2002, Lauree wrote:
