Re: Shaving the face(Don't)Glucophage(Metformin)and points on loosing weight.From: Christie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 5 Mar 2002 09:15:51 -0600 (CST)
I am sorry to reply to this post again, but I can't help but get fired up. I don't think I need to remind anyone that there is no absolute cure for PCOS, so we have to do the best we can for OURSELVES. What works for you may not work for us because we are completely different people. You do not have our medical records sitting in front of you, and you are not our doctor, so why do you feel you have the right to assume you know what's best for us? This is a forum for exchanging ideas, advise, successes and failures to help someone else make a decision on their own individual case, not a place to PREACH to others about how wrong they are and how they need to stop "sitting and hoping" they will lose a lot of weight. How would you know what we do in the privacy of our own homes? I happen to walk 2 to 3 miles a day and have STILL gained weight. Obviously this isn't working for me, so I will keep trying new things until I find something that does. How DARE you suggest that we sit around waiting for some miracle to happen while stuffing our faces with unhealthy foods. I am extremely appalled by your words and hope that you step off your pedestal for a few moments to understand that each of us has the right to explore ANY option we choose to help get ourselves healthy both mentally and physically. This includes herbs, crystals, meditating, yoga, medicines, etc. If it makes us feel better about ourselves and gets us one step closer to feeling *good* again, who are you to judge? I don't like writing negative posts, but ignorant people irritate me to no end. I want to excuse myself ahead of time to the rest of you for saying "us" and "we", as I have no right to speak for the rest of you, but I couldn't sit back and say nothing when we were all attacked by this post.
