There might be better ones, so far for a crew of us down here we've not found one. I used it on the dog and was shocked at how in a little over a day he had healed so quickly. Telling that to the friends who told me about it, I used it. Apparently everyone here that knows about it (read the dog crowd) uses it on themselves with no ill effects. That's interesting that people are sensitive to lanolin. Thanks for letting me know.

Actually, it's a veterinary product that has never been approved for use in humans. It says so right on the can. Many people do use it, and most of the ingredients are common in human products, but it contains a lot of lanolin, which many people are sensitive to. I use non-lanolin products for that reason. Bag balm is mostly vaseline, lanolin, camphor, and a few other things.

There are much better treatments for skin wounds.
