any recommendations for private UK clinics?From: anne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 1 Mar 2002 23:20:25 -0600 (CST)
Hi- I wondered if any of you UK ladies know of any good private clinics I can go to for PCOS? probably just as a one-off. I am not trying to conceive. I have recently started seeing an R.E on the NHS and have an appointment soon- but not soon enough! (I am pretty desparate right now)I still need to get at least a fasting insulin level taken, which seems pretty impossible to get done at the local hospitals. I am basically looking for someone who will help me treat the whole syndrome, and who is known to prescribe insulin sensitizers. I can't get met through my G.P- fair enough he doesn't know enough about PCOS. If anyone knows of anyone in the London or maybe Home Counties area that would be great, but I am willing to travel. Now- a major concern is expense. I don't have insurance and haven't a clue how all that stuff works. How much are we talking roughly for a consultation and possibly an insulin test? If anyone can even point me in the general direction of a few places, that I can then phone up, that would be cool. If you cannot give out names publicly, my email address is matildauk@lycos.com. Sorry I don't know how to make that clickable. I'll try better next time!
