In addition to this wonderful post, I would just like to add that most "normal" cysts will disappear on their own. Many, many women get ovarian cysts but only between 8 - 15 % have PCOS. To help determine if your wife is likely to have PCOS, visit http://www.pcosupport.org . There is a quiz that will help her know if she should persue this further. With PCOS, we are at far greater risk of diabetes and heart disease so it should not be ignored.
