Denise,

here are some links about metformin and PCOS that may help you. also, your doctor was correct in saying that some of the side effects will go away in time (well, they do for most people, but if they don't there are alternatives such as advandia and actos). with a insulin level that high, why not continue treatment with this doctor until you can find a better one. i know that a uninformative doctor is not a good one, but your insulin level is REALLY high, and at this point it would be my opinion that some treatment would be better than none (again, just an opinion)
