I read in Lillian Gillespie's Goddess Diet book that red wine being good for women is a myth - it's good for men, but only increases the chances of heart attack etc etc in women, as alcohol it effects the IR badly just like a bad load of sugar... I drink one serving of alcohol and I have a *terrible* reaction... and can barely move the next day for the body pains etc etc (not a hangover, just that hit by a bus feeling). And believe me, when I drink I can hold my liquor!! it takes quite a bit to get me drunk. So one little drink shouldn't have that effect, but it does! The morning after I'm always grumbling and thinking how I should've just drank the whole lot of it and gotten drunk, what would be the difference in the morning?!!
