hi,

believe it or not, until reading this post i did not know that alot of others on this forum suffered hideous pms symptoms (and ive been coming here for a couple of months now). there are just so many things wrong that can all go back to pcos!!! i just started taking met a few weeks ago, it will be nice to see some positive changes, i hope. as for antidepressants i have had to try several before finding this one that works best. i just get so darn tired about 10 days before i start i end up sleeping 16,18,20 hours. what a waste of life! (not to mention all the other lovely symptoms of pms) anyway i will let you know if the met helps this.

I'm sure you will get lots of responses as everyone has tried different things to try to control to mood swings and depression and they can tell you how it actually worked for them. But the most popular things seem to be metformin which is an insulin sensitiser and treats what is commonly thought to be the cause of PCOS , insulin resistance. Also some people have got good results from a low carb diet which also helps with insulin resistance (this is what i'm doing and it is helping a bit). There are also herbs that can help, vitamin B6 and b12 (i think) is really good and evening primrose oil and a lot of other herbs that people mention on here, some people find that acupuncture and other alternative therapies work for some people. It is just a case of finding out what works best for you. Sorry this is not much help but their really are lots of ladies on here with a lot more information and i'm sure they will help you. Good luck and take care,Lynsey Gilmore
