I want help.....................From: Ruth (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 27 Feb 2002 13:20:44 -0600 (CST)
I just found this site today, I have known for awhile I have pcos, all though my doctors disagree because I have 2 girls. They say lose weight, I want too very much. I am very misrable, and feel awful! My husband I a tried VERY, VERY, hard for the first 5 years of our marriage to get pregnant allot of my friends had children and were always giving unwanted and unsolicited advice. We were very poor, and really sex was the only thing we could afford and like to do alot. So at 23 I was pregant and because I never had periods( about 2 or 3 a year), I didn't beleive I was really carrying a child until I saw it in a synogram. My weight was never higher threw out the whole pregency of 260 pounds. I have always been overweight my whole life, at times I would lose by starving myself, was the only way I really lost weight. So 5 years later I lost about 30 lbs. and I was pregant again. I never knew I was pregnant until I was about 5 months along. Which is embrassing, everyone saying "How didn't you know?" And everytime the "old days" get brought up, that story comes up how I didn't even know I was pregant! HAHA, funny. But, not to me. :( So. I went through all the test at the hospital, before hand. The diebetic test and everything was fine. As the months went along, I was gainging allot of weight and the last 2 months I was horribly swollen. Dr.'s said everything was fine and stop gaining ao much weight. When the c- section came I weigh 359 lbs. When my second daughter was born, she was blue, she weight 10 lbs, and extermely swollen her self. I really don't know what the offical term they said she had, but she had to be flown to Children's Hospital In Balitimore. All I can remeber it had something to do with her blood test and some leval. Well, make A long sory short after 4 days we brought her home. Ever since then, (11 years later)I know weigh 400 lbs. almost completly bald, altough I get help from Eluxin 2x day, has help the hair from falling out. What I really want to know is if I lose this weight. On a Low carb diet, will everything return to normal? Will my hair grow back think like when I was younger? Regular periods? I want no more children. We have since adopted to brothers from a drinking/drug addicted famiy. So we have 4 children now. And believe me 4 IS enough! Also my oldest daughter doesn't have any of the systoms of pcos, but my second daughter does, she is 11 years old and I can see all the symstoms so clearly with her, she even has black hair on her upper lip. I know I am rambling but I have no one to talk to about this or me. I want to feel better, I think if I could lose this weight, the pcos, would almost "go away" I feel so alone and could use some freinds. If anyone has any comments, advice, or HELP!!! Please email me too... Thanks, Ruth
