Help! I have had my period for 3 weeks.From: Angie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 27 Feb 2002 12:35:53 -0600 (CST)
Hi, I have just recently been diagnosed with PCOS. I was having my period about every 2 months. My endocrinologist put me on Actos and now I am on the highest dosage 45mg/day. I am also on Synthroid 150/day for my hypothyroidism. I started having a regular cycle in Dec. (28-29 days) not very heavy and not unpleasant. This month I started on Feb. 6 and today Feb. 27 I am still bleeding and it is getting heavier flow. I also have pain in my right ovary when I cough or sneeze, pressure in my lower back and lower abdomen and cervix, and also cramps. I told my endo. last week and he said I just have to "tough it out" and I called my OB/GYN this week and he said he could do a DNC, or we could just wait it out. I cannot go on birth control because I had a stroke (blood clot) last year. I am not happy with my doctors' attitudes about this. I cannot even lay on my stomach it hurts so bad. I am trying to get an earlier appointment with the Texas Institute for Reproductive Medicine and Endocrinology, but I cannot get in Until April 8. I got on the cancellation list, but I hurt now and my flow is heavier every day. Any Suggestions!? AnyBody gone through this before? Thanks Angie Telford angela_telford@hotmail.com
