Randi, I don't want to alarm you,but that happened to me and still happens to me. First, because it was interfering with my work and my balance was somewhat off....I was sent to a neurologist to rule out neurological disorders. They suspected Multiple Sclerosis.Tests came back that I didn't have that.

I would suspect that most cases of the sudden "dropsies" usually subside. It can be a number of things,....my case was a bit different as I suffer with lupus. There are days when I am holding the phone and it just drops out of my hand.My muscular control just gives. Most dropsies are different than that of mine.

Clumsiness, balance problems as well as double vision together may be a neurological problem.Clumsiness alone usually isn't anything to worry about, but again,if it is bothersome...please make sure to bring it up at your next docs visit.

Some people just have somwhat clumsy moments. You should keep a diary of when this happens and note any difference in balance and walking,as well as your eyesight.I was getting double vision along with mine,,,so main reason the internist reffered me to a neurologist who then ordered an MRI scan.I was also losing muscular control of my legs at the time,so I would not only drop things, but just fall for no apparant reason.I had to leave work because of that, and till this day,am still home.Took almost five years to diagnose me with undifferentiated lupus.

YOu may have diabetic neuropathy. My mother in law has diabetes and she is forever dropping things.......I never ever use my good china when she is over for dinner....lol!She complains though,of numbness in her hands, thus that's why she drops things.I had no numbness in my hands....just felt them go somewhat weak and would just give out.Spinal problems, disc problems etc can cause this as well.It is good you brought this up,as there are probably alot of women that may be able to relate and offer better advice than I am able to.
