Thanks to Barbara's recommendation though I'm going to >look for a lavender shampoo to see if it helps! My doctor told me that for my condition the t-gel won't work. If it works for you that is great, I guess all I can say is to try them both as they work different ways and whichever one has success is what you should use :) The t-gel is an analgesic and works to "heal" your scalp, so it works for ordinary dry skin that cracks and itches, etc., whereas the nizoral has some other agent that works in a different way (don't know the specifics) and the nizoral is the *only* thing that has ever worked for me (and boyo, does it work!). I tried many otc dandruff shampoos before nizoral and they all failed miserably. Another suggestion: tea tree oil shampoo. Not only does it keep the lice away if you live in a particularly infested area and have kids (kids tend to bring it home from school invariably whether or not you are a clean freak) but it also works to medicate your scalp. What we actually do is take some tea tree oil and add it to some plain conditioner, rather than buy the expensive premade stuff.
