I am not aware of any studies that indicate insulin resistance is caused by cortisol levels, but I am aware that increased cortisol levels will raise your blood sugar by stimulating your body to increase those levels.

I do not know if you have seen this page or not. It is the best page that I have seen on Cushing's Syndrome (and other adrenal problems). The symptoms of Cushing's can be very similar to PCOS.
