Re: how do you get rid of sebacious cysts? From: Sonnet (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 25 Feb 2002 22:50:01 -0600 (CST)
I *thought* that a sebacious cyst was one of the big ones we tend to get on our legs etc. In which case, as far as we've been able to tell on this board, the only thing for it is hot compresses, pain killers, and drainage when possible. Of course once it drains keep it VERY clean and put antibiotic ointment etc on it. As far as scalp stuff goes, I agree as well. I have to use an anti-dandruff shampoo (I like Nuetrogena's T-Gel, personally) every few days or my scalp turns red (?) stings and itches, and my hair starts falling out. Thanks to Barbara's recommendation though I'm going to look for a lavender shampoo to see if it helps! Anyway, I was once told that the same hormonal imbalances that cause our other skin problems (acne, etc.) cause problems for our scalp skin too - hence the irritation.
