HI Emily, I don't feel alone again, thanks for listening. Isn't it awful!???? I hate my own guts!haha! It's those ineffectual urges that drive me around the bend. I didn't realize either that pcos-Ir are related to irritable bowel syndrome either. My md said it was.I still don't know for certain.

Yes,he did say to keep a diary of the foods that I eat to see which ones are the offenders,.I could eat nothing and still get this. Yet,I can be really bad and eat a big mac for a treat with fries once a month and it does not effect me.Go and figure.Possibly the reason that you are still constipated with the increase of fiber,is then you really have to increase your water intake so it does not irritate the gut. I was diagnosed in November and really didn't think that pcos was a proper diagnosis for me,..but after reading on the forum here,it is amazing that so many of my symptoms are on this board as well.I felt so alone before, thinking that this was a all in my head syndrome. I am out of the denial now and am willing to try anything to get this under control. There are definitely triggers to IBS>one is stress for sure.I get stressed(my husband says it is my middle name),and off I run to the toitey bowl. If and when I am relaxed, which is hardly ever,I am okay.Seems the worry about the bowel problems cause them. Also, before menestration....then I go more and is normal.Only time my bowels are fine, but I feel worse..lol!NO happy medium for this old gal! Thanks alot!

>>Barbra, I know what you're going through. I was diagnosed with PCOS 5 weeks ago, and IBS 5 days ago. The cramping and shooting pains in my lower abdomen have been going on for about 9 days now. I am on Darvocet for the pain, and sometimes need to take 2 at a time, because the pain is so bad. If it doesn't clear up by Wed, I think I am going to go to a GI doctor. I didn't realize that PCOS had a direct link to the IBS. I started Yasmin about 4 weeks ago, and when I went to my OB/GYN last week because of the pain (I thought the pain was in my ovaries), he said the cysts have started shrinking. I have also been low carbing, eating only whole grains, fruit, veggies and meat. I have been eating a lot more fiber, but the constipation is still there. And I can sympathize with the ineffectual urges as well. I have only had diarrhea twice in the last couple of weeks, but am constipated most of the time. I hope it clears up, or at least I'll be able to find out what sets this off.
