No hair removal effort will work if we do not attack the cause of the hair growth. If you are on metformin, aldactone or any other thing that you may be using to help reduce the excess androgens in your body, you have a good chance of having success with laser (or electrolysis, etc.) With Glucophage, I have cut way back on having to deal with my facial hair, from every other day (stressful times - everyday!) to only once a month.

Laser works best on fair skinned people with dark hair. You will have to go a few times because of the growth of the hair. At any given time you have hair follicles that are actively growing or resting. There are three cycles of growth so at least three treatments are recommended in most cases. The way I understand it, the laser attacks the growth beneath the skin at the follicle area. I would ask the dermatologist about shaving the day of but you could try to schedule a Monday morning appointment so that you could let it grow over the weekend (heavy makeup for church) and have the treatment before wor However, some women have a redness in the area of the laser treatment so you may want to take the day off or have treatments on Friday. (Assuming a normal M - F work week)
