Re: Normal Blood WorkFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 24 Feb 2002 01:32:40 -0600 (CST)
First of all you are on a message board for PCOS, not diabetes - so even though you asked a diabetic question it is only normal that you would get some info on PCOS. There are not many experts on diabetes here - so maybe you should go someplace else for those kind of questions. Second of all - because your mother is diabetic you are at increased risk if you like it or not - or agree with it or not. It's really not debatable. All of your arguments about IR and PCOS research are rather misinformed - but that is obviously because you are not interested in being informed. Insulin resistance is not always easy to diagnose - and that is why a person can say they are IR - but if they have symptoms of PCOS they can't ever really say they are not. Judging by your lack of info and general feelings of helplessness at you and your mothers medical conditions I can only imagine that you didn't have ALL the appropriate tests for IR anyway. Third - you asked for info about diabetes for your mom - and then argued every single point with an excuse and as if it was merely a way to talk about how miserable your situation is. I don't see you as interested in getting any kind of help, advice or info. I don't know what you are doing exactly and I don't know why you think you are such an expert on everything - when you are clearly not interested in learning anything new. If you are so unwilling to read research papers I can only pray to God that you are never MY nurse. (on top of that, why in heavens name is your mother not monitoring her bloodsugar night and day, before meals and after meals? Oh, don't tell me, I can probably guess at what kind of excuse you hae for that! ) You asked how Belle could say anything about your situation. Perhaps it's because she actually read the articles that were written by educated professionals with years of scientific research and knowledge. It doesn't sound like you have read them, any of them - considering you have so little time. Lastly, ("and I'm sorry if I offend you with this") but it is just fine if you don't ask anymore questions of this board because you obviously don't care about the answers and that is taking valuble resources away from people who actually WANT to get better. You are apparently too unique to be helped by modern, scientific treatment options - so I don't suppose any of us could help you if you ask questions or not. Yes, I'm sending this anon. because I feel it's way below the standards of this board to bicker and argue - but the fact that you were so rude to a member who was not only trying to help you, but is also one of the most knowledgable, supportive people on this board was just a little more than I could put up with. Did you even stop to think how long it might have taken her to find all those articles for you? OH, but you're only your time is precious, right? If this made you feel bad maybe you can now understand how your post to Belle made her feel - the only difference was that she was trying to help you. Sad, really sad.
