I am jumpping in here with out going through the entire thread, so I may be way off, but if you are asking only about metformin and not in relation to anything else, I may be able to help answer your question until Sally gets back with you. Metformin is a drug that you need to work up on your dosage. If you take too much too soon, you can have stomach problems (diarrhea, nausea, etc.) It may reduce your appetite. You *may* lose weight (it is not a weight loss drug, but some people have reported weight loss). It does not reduce you blood sugar, it simply helps your insulin work properly. You will not get symptoms of hypoglycemia.
