Hi Kris.

I am 39 years old and just diagnosed with PCOS 1 1/2 years ago. I had my first child at 23 years old. I was somewhat overweight and had tried 4 years before becoming pregnant. I gained only 18 lbs during my pregnancy. I weighed about 15 lbs less after giving birth than I did when I had become pregnant. My periods never got better. My symptoms increased gradually and I went undiagnosed.

I became pregnant again 9 years later at the age of 32. Again, I gained little weight and came home lighter than pre-pregnancy. Unfortunately, that did not last. I quickly began gaining weight. My periods all but stopped. My facial hair grew worse. I seeked help and was diagnosed and am being treated very successfully.

I feel my condition did worsen after my second child. However I can not positively attribute this to post-pregnancy. I feel my condition was going to be whatever it was whether or not I had given birth. My doctor called both my boys miracles as I had no medical intervention for either pregnancy. Hope this helps you or gives you hope that you will become a Mom soon. Good luck.
