That is the reason they give you the cardiodiary ,usually for anywhere from a week to a month or longer,as the heart is so complicated.I have another cardiodiary now.I have it beside me all the time.As long as you record the event as quickly as you can...you can always call it in later.Sometimes,I record an event and play it back to see if it sound bad.....if not, then I wait till there is a worse one.Worst part with the cardiodiary,is that you can only call the events in between certain hours.I get mine when the cardio lab is closed, therefore,I have to save the last event and call it in the morning.YOu can only record one event at a time.so that sucks a bit. The cardiodiary caught more than the holtor....as sometimes the flip flops that you feel are recorded as normal extra beats. It's strange that mine are always bothering me,but the flip flops were recorded as normal and other times they weren't.I am still not sure what is going on,other than I have taccycardia and bradycardia and sometimes atrial fibrillation. That is when the heart goes nuts and sometimes lasts for over an hour.I have seen more ER rooms than you can imagine.THey have had me on all types of meds for arrythmia over a couple years, and none seem to help.I am seeing a new specialist for a disease called Wolf Parkinson White Syndrome, which is a problem with the electrical circuits of the heart. Was told that it presents with the symptoms that alot of women with panic have.It will take me six months before I see this new specialist. Good luck!
