Re: pcos problemFrom: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 18 Feb 2002 21:19:46 -0600 (CST)
Hi, I'm way past being a teenager but I do remember! Your at that point where you are a young adult and your parents are still thinking of you as a kid! Keep talking to your mom. Ask her about when she first started her period. When I was a "teen" and all my friends had, well "started" I was clueless! One day I just up and asked my Mom why I hadn't! We had a long discussion about everything going on (or not) and it made her more aware of everything. It took a while but she finally did take me to a doctor. It is very improtant that you keep letting her know that you feel that there is something not going right! Do it nicely but keep letting her know!!!! If it comes down to she just won't help you then you might seriously think about getting a part-time job and going to a doctor on your own! This is your health your talking about! It would help if you became as PCOS Saavy as possible! The More you know the better chance you have of making sure you get the right help! My thoughts & prayers are with you! My niece Becky has many of the signs of PCOS and no matter what anyone says her mom just doesn't seem to get that there is a problem. Best Wishes!!
