Thanks, Sonnet, I owe you big time!From: Michele (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 18 Feb 2002 19:50:16 -0600 (CST)
Hey Sonnet, A few months back I posted something about all my progesterone tests coming back that I didn't ovulate, despite the fact OPKs were suggesting that I did, and you recommended that I try charting temps. Even though I knew you were right at the time, I resisted charting the temps because I thought it was going to be too much of a hassle. In January, I came down with pneumonia and when I started feeling better, I decided it might be a good time to start, after all I'd pretty much been taking my temperature first thing every morning anyway, so I didn't think it would be too difficult to make the transition. Well, since I started later in the month, about 6 days before I figured I "should" ovulate, I didn't think much of it when my temps spiked around day 14, nor a few days later when they spiked again. I just figured it was my normal, abnormal hormone levels being erratic. When I got to around 15 days passed what I suspected to be ovulation I noticed that my temps were still pretty high. I figured what the hell, I'll try an HPT, that was 2 days before Valentine's day. I was just about to throw the test away and shrug off what I knew was going to be a negative result when I realized, it had two stripes! I was so shocked I had to check and make sure I didn't grab an OPT accidently. I confirmed it later that afternoon with a blood test and was able to give hubby some very special news on Valentine's day. Anyway, I wanted to thank you for the advice. It was such a gift to be able to see it all happen in the temps. Please all keep my husband and I in your prayers the next few weeks as we go to our first appointments and hopefully continue to get good news.
