Hi there!

Like Belle said, hair loss comes from within. My cousin who has PCOS lost a ton of weight and is still experiencing hair loss. Hair loss associated with PCOS is usually caused by excess androgens. Being overweight CAN cause an increase in androgens in some women so it can't hurt to not be overweight. But like I said you can have high androgen levels while being THIN not just overweight.

Not everyone with PCOS experiences hair loss just as not everyone with PCOS experiences cystic ovaries, acne, infertility or excess body hair. Different women with PCOS have different symptoms. My advice to help prevent hair loss is to help keep androgens low by keeping weight down, taking Glucophage if you need to. Also, a low carb diet helps some PCOS ladies with many symptoms.

Also, F.Y.I. it is very rare for a woman to become BALD. Thinning hair is not rare but being BALD is. Take care! God bless! Tera
