Hi, that is really strange! It made me remember that I had read an article that connects PCOS to calcium and vitamin D deficiency. Apparently calcium plays a part in regulating ovulation, and vitamin D regulates calcium.

So maybe if you are in a warm place and are going out in the sun more you will be getting more vitamin d and this could be helping regulate your cycle?

There is a study abstract at http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=10433180&dopt=Abstract that talks about how giving pcos women calcium and vit d supplements restored their cycles.

Anyway, its just a thought, could be completely wrong (I often am lol). But I do think this is very interesting, especially as I live at about 52 degrees north and so hardly ever get any vitamin d from sunlight! I wouldn't be at all surprised if I was deficient in vit d.

Also vitamin d deficiency can cause insulin resistance, which I think is very very interesting! In fact I might even ask my doctor to test my vitamin d. An article all about vitamin d is at http://www.westonaprice.org/vitamins/nutrition_vitaminD.html if anybody is interested.
