I just took the opportunity to read thru some of your posts that I had missed about the hot spells. In one post, you speak of that ,if you are warm enough to cuddle in the morning that you are well controlled. Are you saying that you will awake warm if your diet isn't well controlled? I find that too,but didn't really think that the carbs could make me so hot upon waking. Yesterday,I basically ate total protein...carbs were only some strawberries and broccoli, cauliflower, lots of celery. I ate a piece of cheese before retiring, and I awoke chilly, which was always the way I used to awake. It could be that I am cheating,as I tend to shake for something sweet in the evenings after doing yoga.I actually shake for a fix of sugar...a piece of chocolate or a cookie...sometimes,I am really bad and eat more than I wish to tell.I find this strange,as after yoga,my body is relaxed and normal temperature..no sweating with the yoga and I do it for an hour faithfully every night before going to bed,and I really get hungary for something sweet.I have the carb...feel better, but awake hot.The complete opposite happened upon waking today...I am cold...at least I can be cuddly. So,off to take a shower and see how well I can manage not perspiring after I am finished,so that at least I can feel that I don't need another one. I have to ask a silly question here, that I may be wrong about the way that I post what I THINK may be true, but would appreciate your advice on the subject. Isn't it true that body temperatures do fluctuate even with normal people? To my knowledge,(please correct me if I am wrong),you awake with a lower body temperature(means you should be cool upon waking),and usually the body temp peaks after being awake for 10 hours and then should go down again before going to sleep? When being a so called "Normal" person, that was the way it was for me. I was always chilled upon waking...felt good,as I could snuggle into a cozy robe and have warm cup of coffee or tea, then shower and feel great....body temp would be normal all day...of course doing alot of walking as I did with my former position as a general manager for a jewellery chain store;and always on the move,I was a normal warm. Then just before it would be my bed time,I would again feel chilled and snuggle under the covers and drift into a normal, uninterrupted sleep. The radiating heat is really unbelievable,as my husband says I feel like a hot element on our stove, radiating heat....jokingly saying that I can heat the kettle myself....haha to him! Also,if you don't mind me asking your advice on the kelp. What is you opinion on me taking kelp in my multi vitamin/mineral complex? It is only ten mg. Thanks again for always responding. Barbra
