I only recently had the blood tests and my doctor suspects PCOS. My fasting insulin result was normal he said, however (my LH and FSH were high). He is letting me try metformin anyway just to see what happens, I guess as kind-of an experiment. Another girl wrote me earlier saying that her doctor thinks everyone who has PCOS has some kind of insulin resistance even though our current methods can't show it accurately. I haven't had any unpleasant side effects from the metformin, so I wouldn't discourage giving it a try. Jessica
