Hot flashes.....sweating for no apparant reason, adversion to heat...

I am really learning alot on the forum and would like to thank all that have given me many answers to my somewhat ignorant questions about PCOS.

It has only been a couple months since on this forum,so bear with me hear,as I am still familiarizing myself with my current PCOS and IR.

I just want to know how many suffer hot flashes, sweating and adversion to warmth..and then go completely opposite for a week or so and be icy cold? I am talking that you can actually feel the heat radiating from my body...I can be my husband's electric heating blanket! And to think that just ten years ago we had a water bed that I loved,as it was so warm and cuddly.Ahh...miss being able to like being warm and cozy. No matter what,I cannot seem to regulate my body thermostat and that is certainly taking the toll on my heating bills, not to mention that my husband already doesn't know what the heck is going on with the temps in the house,as I keep fiddling with the thermostat all day long and asking him:"are you hot"?

I feel as if I am walking in and out of a hot bath tub somedays, without being emerged in the hot water. I also have this problem after showering where I cannot stop perspiring and it is as if I need to shower all over again. I try the warm-pool water shower and rinse off in cold and although my room is cool,I am still hot. This is also very exhausting on me,as after showering and dressing,I have to sit down for an hour to unwind. No,I am not going thru menopause either.

Is this related to the hormonal fluctuations? I am trying to read into a pattern with this, but cannot.

I was fine for almost three months...not that bothersome,,then, wham!,they start out of the blue.

Another thing I do notice is that when I do get hot and sweaty,,,I then get very nervous, which then leads to a vicious, unrelenting pattern of perspiring. I suppose it is the fear of the unknown,as when I am so hot,,(it's like put the fire out),I do tend to worry as to WHY? THIS IS HAPPENING,therefore probably leading to more. I know this is an icky question(no pun intended),but one that is very disturbing for me.

I would feel a bit more relieved knowing that others have the same problems and to know how they deal with it.I do have some thyroid abnormalities...now they say is just normal highs, but even when it showed "normal",I still get the hot spells,so I don't know if this is the thyroid or what.

This condtion is more complicated than I thought it was. I never realized how many difficulties we with PCOS have.

When my friends ask about PCOS....I try to explain it to them and they just look at me and think it is a cyst on the ovary and say"well,I know so and so had a cyst"etc.Or they assume that it is menopause, despite I tell them that most women in this group are young.

Any help with this problem is appreciated.

Sincerely,
Barbra Camara
