tracy,

when you first start taking glucophage you can have mild to severe gastro reactions including the many trips to the bathroom you mentioned. those should subside over time. i know that i was sick for about 6 weeks, after which i felt much better.

at the same time you have to remember you are not taking glucophage so you can eat carbs, you are taking to lower your insulin resistace. an increase in carbs can cause an increase in trips to the bathroom, so i would refrain from the oreos =)

i also have little will power concerning what i eat, but try to cut back on carbs for a week. just MAKE yourself do it to see if the bathroom visits slow down. pay attention to what you eat and compare that to the frequency of your bowel movements. i can not stress enough how important it is to be in tune with your body when you have PCOS. since every person reacts differently to both the symptoms of PCOS and the treatments you will have to do some experimenting to see exactly how many carbs you can eat and still improve your symptoms.

if you have hair growth issues, you should also be able to tell a difference in how fast the hair grows versus how many carbs you are eating. pay attention to what your body is telling you. balance your carbs with proteins and keep track of how meals effect how you feel.

if this fails to work talk to your doctor, you might be better helped by trying a different insulin resistance drug like actos or advandia.

hope this helps =)

love, paula
