I take Metformin and it has helped, not loads. I was able to follow the Atkins diet and lose weight. Without the pills it didn't work. The only problem had when following diet, I had to cut back on the dosage (too many trips to the loo). Only take one or two a day. I got my gynie to prescribe them, doc wouldn't listen. The only way Gynie gave them was because I had an endocrinologist there as well and went armed with loads of literature and insisted. I was known as the one who does her own research. Hope this helps.
