Re: Anyone know how to tell bbt????? Please help! From: Belinda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 28 Jan 2002 05:44:14 -0600 (CST)
I'm hardly an expert on this, but this is what I think...! You usually get the fertile cervical fluids a few days before you ovulate. If you have good quality fertile fluid and your partner has healthy sperm, then the sperm can live for 3 - 5 days usually, so you could have timed things just right! I think that ideally the sperm should be around before you ovulate - the egg only lasts for up to 12 hours, so the safest way to make sure you have a live egg in the same place as live sperm is to have the sperm hanging around waiting! Have you read "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler (sp?)? It really explains all this fantastically. Good luck!
