hairloss questions

Stupid question- but does anyone have any clue why some of us who have hairloss have female pattern hairloss and some male pattern? Is it just one of those individual differences? I have male pattern hairloss, and I was wondering if I could get my androgen levels down enough it might at least turn into female pattern hairloss. Yeah it does sound unlikely. I know thinning hair is devestating anyway, but I would rather look menopausal at the age of 24 than have male pattern baldness! Aah it has sped up so fast- I've hardly had time to even consider the options for hiding it/dealing with it.
