Cat,
Thanks for your good wishes.
I too am on the NHS and do not find 3 or 4 month waiting lists. I do not
know if it is because of the area you live in that it is so difficult. All
you need to do is get your GP to write to the local specialist saying that
you need further investigations into your problem. The GP MUST put that
they think you need urgent investigations and the hospital then has to give
you an appointment within 1 or sometimes 2 months in order to stay in line
with the new government rules. If you already have a specialist ring them up
and tell them how much worse the symptoms are getting so you can get an
appointment. i don't know if the rules change in different areas but i am in
the NW of the UK and my boyfriend is a nurse at the local hospital and my
mum works for a doctor and both have told me that is the way to get seen
quickly.
Sorry for interfering in your conversation again-promise i won't do it
again!!!!
Lynsey
